About Us

My Story

STACEY SAWYER

Stacey Sawyer is the proud owner of Pineapple Picasso and a former teacher of 30 years.

She lived in Illinois most of her life until she and her family moved to Florida in 2010. Eventually, her parents and her sister’s family followed suit.

Stacey and her only sibling, Tracey, were extremely close, making sure their own children grew up together. Unfortunately, her sister passed away from Multipole Myeloma in 2018 at the age of 47. Stacey turned to resin art to help her cope with her grief, and it became her therapy. After a few months, she decided to see a medium in search of any connection to her sister. She asked the medium, “What does my sister think about my art?” The medium looked down and then back up and said, “She said make it bigger.”

Since then, Stacey has been “making is bigger” and has never looked back. She has continued to perfect her craft multiple different ways. She began as Pineapple Beach Creations, creating the name from her sister’s love of pineapples and the beach. Her first show was on Pine Island at the Island Conclave Gallery. She then began selling her art at Sip and Send and Cape Coral re:Made where she volunteered her time. The biggest show she was in was the Cape Coral Arts and Music Festival which she has been in the last three years. Cape Coral re:Made gave her the inspiration, experience, and motivation to become her own entrepreneur and to begin creating a business plan for her own store, which would eventually become Pineapple Picasso.

Stacey’s dreams came true when she and her husband, Craig, put their ideas together and found the space for Pineapple Picasso at 2612 Santa Barbara Blvd. Suite 2, in Cape Coral, FL. In fact, right after they signed the rental agreement, they saw a perfect pineapple just lying in the middle of the road at the intersection of their new store. They took it as a sign from Stacey’s sister that this was where they were supposed to be.

My Experience – Stacey

I have loved art my whole life, and have tried many different mediums in high school and in college. About five years ago, I saw some resin art online, and I’ve been doing it ever since. I love making waves to create the looks of the beach. I am also dabbling with engraving, painting, 3D printing, Cricut, and printing on material. I’m sure as time goes on, I’ll be experimenting on many other mediums.
